Epiphany Gradient Manicure Featuring A England and Messy Mansion MM01 Stamping Plate

I've always wanted to do one of these manicures with the gradient twilight look in the background. What better time than the Epiphany (The Feast of the Three Kings).

Check out the video tutorial I created for this look :)

Have you ever done one of these manicures?

Blue Metallic Zipper Nails with Loja BBF 01

Going for the metallic look today with the base and stamping for this nail art. I started with a base of AEngland Holy Grail (original).

AEngland Holy Grail (original)

I got some Loja BBF plates, which is a brand that I hadn't tried before. I liked the zipper image on BBF 01 so decided to try that plate first.

I stamped it on with Kleancolor Metallic Sapphire.

I really liked the look but when I put top coat on it sort of smeared the stamping. It still looks good but the lines aren't as crisp when I first stamped it on. Has that every happened to you?

7 Days of St Patrick's Day Nail Challenge: Day 6: AEngland Dragon

Continuing with the 7 Days of St. Patrick's Day Nail art challenge I found on Facebook, I decided to do a swatch of one of my favorite greens.

AEngland Dragon is such a beautiful color. It is a grass green with olive green flashes and holographic particles! This is one of the first international polishes that I owned and what really got me started looking at international brands and indie nail polish polish.

What was that first polish that got you checking out international brands?

7 Days of St Patrick's Day Nail Challenge: Day 4: Gold Stamping with Hit the Bottle

Continuing with the 7 Days of St. Patrick's Day Nail art challenge I found on Facebook, I decided to go for some gold stamping :)

I started with a base of Arcane Lacquer Reflective Property, which is a Beautometry.com store exclusive, and as an accent nail used A England Briarwood. The 2 colors go very well together.

I then stamped with el Corazon red stamping polish one of the crosses on the Messy Mansion plate MM54.

Last, I stamped with various Hit the Bottle golds the full nail pattern. I think it turned out really cool and is like a gradient of golds with the stamping being a different one on each nail. How many different gold stamping polishes do you have?

Closeup to see how good the stamping turned out, look at those details!

Better Than Jamberry: Butterfly Kisses

This week in AIS, the challenge was to do "better than Jamberry" nails. I've never tried the nail wraps they offer and don't really feel inclined to since I have so many stamping plates and the sky's the limit with stamping nail art.

I chose Butterfly Kisses to recreate.

I started with AEngland Iseult on all nails and then topped that off with Glitter Gal Fuschia holographic. Isn't that a beautiful combination??

I used BM-424 from the BM 2013 CYO (Create Your Own) collection and stamped the butterfly wing image with Funky Fingers Black Knight.

I used L.A. Colors French White to make the dots on the wings with a toothpick.

I LOVE this look!!! Have you every done butterfly wing nails?

2015 Valentine's Day Challenge: Love and Kisses

Today's theme for the 2015 Valentine's Day Challenge is Love and Kisses. I went with literal this time, but some nontraditional St. Valentine's Day colors :)

I started with Funky Fingers Chesire on all nails and then put Glitter Gal Bruised Ego on top of that on all nails.

Using BM02 and BM09, I stamped the kisses and "LOVE" word on my thumb and ring finger with AEngland Excalibur (original).

I finished the manicure by doing a French tip on the other nails with Funky Fingers Dark Knight.

Here's a closeup of the thumb:

What nontraditional colors have you used for St. Valentine's Day?

N is for New: I LOVE this New Plate!

Today for the A2Z Challenge, we have N is for New. I decided to go with a new plate that I haven't used yet. It is Marianne nails plate n53.

I started with AEngland Guinevere on all nails.

I then stamped the Love image from Marianne nails plate n53:

After I stamped, I added Glitter Gal Wysteria and AEngland Avalon on the accent nail.

What do you think? Have you used any new to you plates lately?

2015 Valentine's Day Challenge: Snowflake Lace

I'm participating in the 2015 Valentine's Day Challenge.

The first one is Romantic Lace. I decided to make it look like snowflakes since there's a lot of snow happening right now (unfortunately, not near me).

I started with AEngland Lady of Shalott on all nails. It's a very dark blue, almost black shade with a lot of shimmer in the sunlight. You can see not only blue shimmer, but also flashes of purple depending on the angle of your nails.

Using Funky Fingers Gesso and Infinity Nails 42, I stamped on the lace on the tips of each nail. Since I wanted to show the snowflakes like they were part of the lace, I took a snowflake from Infinity Nails 79 with Funky Fingers Gesso and put the top edges into the previously stamped lace design. I really like this look!

Have you ever combined two images like this to create something else?

Today's Superbowl 2015! I don't really watch sports, but an excuse to do my nails? You bet I'm there ;)

  1. Funky Fingers Gesso
  2. AEngland Dragon
  3. OPI You Don't Know Jacques
  4. L.A. Colors French White
  5. Konad Red
  6. Ulta Concrete
  7. Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Grease Lightening
  8. Sally Hansen Extreme Wear Blue It

St. Valentine's Day Nails with the Lead Light Technique

I just had to play with the new plates, so I used Messy Mansion MM03 to create another St. Valentine's Day manicure. I also used the opportunity to try the Lead Light technique again. What new techniques have you been trying?

MM03

I started with AEngland Perceval on all nails. Isn't that a gorgeous royal red color? I just love it!
A-England Perceval

I then stamped the heart ornaments with Konad White and colored them in with L'Oreal jelly polishes. I used Bananarama Love (yellow), bubble trouble (pink), and lilac coolers (purple).

What do you think? It smeared the white a bit, so that's certainly something I need to work on for the next time. Have you tried lead light yet?

Flower Manicure with AEngland Love is Enough

Another addition to the Heavenly Quotes line by AEngland is Love is Enough. It is a beautiful foil with hints of olive, gold, grey and silver.

I added a flower stamp from PUEEN25 with L.A. Colors French White and really like the lacy effect.

PUEEN25

I think it turned out nice and muted looking, gives a sort or lace feel to the look.

What do you think?

Elegant Rose Tips

This is a plain, yet elegant manicure for today.

The base is AEngland Avalon and then I used AEngland Excalibur (New Edition) and then stamped the rose from RA-118 on the tips with Funky Fingers Black Knight.

Iron Man 3 Movie Manicure + Tutorial!!

Today I have a very intricate design, but don't worry, I created a YouTube tutorial to help everyone recreate if too :)

Here are some photos I took while creating the look:

On the thumb, I have AEngland Holy Grail (Limited Edition), Pointer and Pinky Fingers- Glitter Gal Serpent Black, Middle Finger- AEngland Perceval, Ring Finger- AEngland Excalibur.

I used some Kleancolor large Hexagonal Glitters on the Pointer and Pinky finger:
Kleancolor- Gold Tiara, Chunky Copper and Red Hot.

I did some double-stamping techique and even used some Sharpie Marking Pens to create this look. I am overall very pleased with how it turned out.

I even got to use a new stamping plate! I used the Gals Princess Set GA-7 stamping plate to create the chest plate area for the middle finger:

And, here's the finished look!

If you want to try your hand at this look, here's the tutorial:
