Swatch: OPI Coral Reef Orange Holographic and Matching Orange Eye Look

OPI Coral Reef

This is OPI Coral Reef from the 2003 Summer For Shore Collection. It is a really nice subtle orange linear holographic. Great for October fall manicures because the sun may still be around, and of course since it's orange!

Here are a few more angles to see more holographic goodness and the richness of this polish. It applied nicely and was pretty opaque, even after only 1 coat!

And here is a matching orange eye look:

Swatch: Glitter Gal Lizard Belly 3d Holographic Nail Polish

Today I decided to swatch one of the beautiful Glitter Gal linear holographic polishes!

What is linear holographic, you may ask? It means that as the rainbow flashes on the nail it is in a linear (as in forming lines) pattern. This is opposed to the other type of holographic polish, the scattered holographic.

This photo shows the polish indoors with no flash, beautiful emerald green color.

These next photos are in different lighting to show the holographic goodness of Lizard Belly.

Overall, I LOVE this polish. It is a nice green color, opaque in one coat and can't forget the holo!!

Swatch: Borghese Tangelo Sherbet

This is the first time that I have tried this brand: Borghese. It worked fine. I did, however, have to do several coats to get this color opaque enough and strong enough against my skin-tone.

It has been a while since I have done anything to my cuticles, I suppose now would be the time to start moisturizing again?! Hopefully, it doesn't look too bad.

This is a pink color, maybe leaning a bit peach, but definitely pink.

Fall Leaves Manicure

Left Hand
It's been getting a bit colder here lately, so what better time than to post a falling leaves manicure. For this manicure, I used Love & Beauty Cucumber Melon scented nail polish, Love & Beauty Olive, OPI Rising Star and OPI Take the Stage. Both OPI are from the Holiday 2009 Burlesque Collection.

I decided to show both my hands because I really liked this manicure.

Here's a close up of the leaves:

Swatch: Love & Beauty Light Green Cucumber Melon Scented Nail Polish

Love this color! It is a nice light green that looks great on my nails. And, it really is scented. Now, it doesn't last as long as the Funky Fingers scented polish scents do, but it lasted enough for me to notice it did have a scent.

Swatch: China Glaze Midnight Kiss

China Glaze Midnight Kiss

China Glaze Midnight Kiss is from the 2011 Holiday Collection. As you can see in the photo, they all had silver caps. I like this because it seems like it is a bunch of super-micro-glitter that comes together to make a muted metallic gold look.

You can see in the photo is is still a little sheer, but it applies nicely and builds opacity.

Announcing BEAUTOMETRY.COM

I just opened my own nail polish online etailer site. I am currently selling 2 brands of nail polish, A England and Glitter Gal. The reason I started it is because there are so many awesome foreign brands of nail polish that we cannot get here in the United States that easily.

The idea is to provide foreign brands at an affordable price shipped domestically. This saves you money and especially saves you time and money on shipping!
Click here to check it out!

I will be also posting some swatches I did of some of the polishes on this blog to show the awesome polishes. I especially love the holographic selection from Glitter Gal and the A England collections are beautiful and VERY long lasting.

Swatch - OPI Did It On Em

OPI Did It On Em is a bright green from the 2012 Nicki Minaj collection. It is really bright on the nails and easily noticeable. I think it will be a great spring color!

Superbowl 2012 Manicure!!

I don't really watch football, but I like doing my nails an we were going to a Superbowl party. So why not?

This is what my nails looked like with just the base colors on them. I used Sally Hansen Extreme Wear in Going Green and OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air for the accent nail.

Here is each hand with closeups of the respective artwork. I made a goal post on the pointer of my left hand and a football on the pointer of my right hand. I wanted it to be like a football flying over the goalpost. I used various colors to achieve this look including the Layla Magneffect in Golden Bronze.

Thumb shot

Here is my eye look. I used a bright green in the corners, darker green in the middle and brown to create a smokey look.

Stars in the Night Sky

Orly Rock Solid on all nails except ring finger which has Orly Le Chateau. Orly Le Chateau is a very dark, almost black, green jelly-like color. Very complicated, which is interesting in a nail polish. Over the accent color, I put a Sinful Colors glitter. Not sure which one, but one in the clear base with irredescent glitter.

Overall, this looks like a beautiful night sky with lots and lots of stars.

Close-up of Orly Rock Solid to show some of the holographic glitter particles. It is not a super holographic polish, but in the right light it has nice sparkle.

I just got OPI My Private Jet (one of the newer versions) and wanted to compare it. As you can see, nothing close. This one has a sort of teal flash and very smooth finish.

Santa and his Chimney

Here is a photo of the items I used:
-OPI Girls Just Want to Play
-OPI Baby It's "Coal" Outside
-China Glaze Sexagon
-Ulta Set The Nude
-Seche Vite Top Coat (Not pictured)
-XL Stamping Plate A

Started out with OPI Girls Just Want to Play as a base on all nails.
- Took OPI Baby It's Coal Outside with the "brick-like" image from the stamping plate and did pointer, middle and pinky fingers. I then did those 3 tips as well. I put China Glaze Sexagon on my ring finger as an accent to be sort of like snow. I then painted my thumb with the Ulta polish and drew the santa face with a dotting tool. I used Konad White and Red for the hair and hat details.

Here's the finished look! LOVE the holo in China Glaze Sexagon.

Interesting close-up of the holograph in regular evening light. I thought this looked really cool. Kind of like trying to take a photo of fireworks or lights at night.

Here's a neutral eye look I also did. I used some colors found in a pallette I bought around Christmas time at Dollar General.

OPI Girls Just Want to Play

When I think of wearing red nail polish, THIS is the color that comes to mind. OPI Girls Just Want to Play was part of a double set from their Holiday in Toyland Collection. It is very bright and shiny!

Sinful Colors Seaweed

Sinful Colors Seaweed is a nice pastel greyish green sort of shade. It is subtle, yet opaque in one coat. The formula was smooth and wear was great (as usualy with Sinful Colors).

March for Life 2011 Manicure

This was my manicure for the March for Life last year. I don't remember which color I used for the base, but I think I put some sort of coral first and then a metallic pink on top. I then used a silver polish to draw the baby foot. I stamped the rose image from plate bm14 with Konad red stamping polish. I used the Konad red stamping polish to create the French tip on my thumb.

China Glaze For Audrey, OPI Mermaid's Tears and Silver Shatter

This manicure allowed me to compare China Glaze For Audrey and OPI Mermaid's Tears. The OPI was used for the accent nail. You can see the difference between the 2 colors easily. Mermaid's Tears leans greener than For Audrey. I actually like both colors very well and both applied nicely. I then used the OPI Silver Shatter on the accent nail and just love the combination!

Here is a close-up to show the sparkles in OPI Silver Shatter. It's a greart formula, not as thick as the black, and shattered nicely.

Swatch: 4 Recent Funky Fingers Metal Crackles

These have been around for a few months. They seem to be more metallic type crackle and one even have gold shimmer!

This is Burgundy Scales. It is a shimmery metallic color and this one, along with the rest, crackle just like the other ones.

This is Orange Scales (so creative, lol). It cracks really well and looks great with that green underneath. The green underneath all of these is Orly It's Not Rocket Science from the Cosmic FX Collection.

This is Teal Scales and it REALLY pretty. I didn't get a really good photo here, but I kinda did this quickly before I took off a previous manicure. It has gold shimmer/very fine glitter in it that just sparkles! It's really pretty and cracks pretty well too.

And last is Purple Scales. I think purple crackles just don't work very well. It has the same problem as the China Glaze purple too. It is a metallic purple and was thick and probably my least favorite of these 4.

2 Snowflake Manicures

At the beginning of last year, I did this manicure. It was one of my first attempts at nail art stamping and really got me hooked! The base is Sinful Colors Midnight Blue. I then took Revlon Gum Drop and stamped snowflakes from plate BM14. I put a little bit of silver glitter top coat on as well to give it a nice sparkle.
The Revlon stamped pretty well, but because the blue is so dark it didn't give the result I had hoped for. But it looks cool nonetheless.

I then decided to mix it up and switch the colors around. It looks great this way as well. Same colors and nail plate, just used the blue to stamp. Sinful Colors polish always works well stamping for me. The dark colors are so opaque and work nicely.

Multi-colored Pink Pretty!

I started with OPI Do You Think I'm Tex-Y from the Texas Collection from Spring/Summer 2011. It's a light fuschia jelly and this is 2 coats.

I then added 2 coats of the OPI Ulta Holiday 2011 exclusive A Sparkle Yule Love. It is so glittery!! There are hex glitters and smaller glitters in there. They are pink, orange, light blue, purple, silver and gold. And I'm sure to have left off some colors because there are lots of different colored/sized glitter in this beauty.

Swatch: OPI Ski Teal We Drop

This is OPI Ski Teal We Drop and it is part of the Swiss Collection which was Fall/Winter 2010.

LOVE IT! It is a really pretty creme and goes on so smooth and dries shiny. I like the way it looks on me and it is a dark, murky teal. Very pretty.
