Q is for Quirky: Cupcake Watermarble

Today for the A2Z Challenge, we have Q is for Quirky. I had a quick inspiration for this and just went with it.

I started with a base of Wet n Wild Fast Dry Silvivor and created a water marble decal with that and Glitter Gal 10 to Midnight. These are holographic!!!
I then created a stamping decal with Cheeky Jumbo Plate 7 Home Sweet Home for the cupcake using Funky Finger Blacks Night then colored it in with OPI Pink Friday and L.A. Colors French White.

I really enjoyed this quirky look!! What do you think?

Better Than Jamberry: Butterfly Kisses

This week in AIS, the challenge was to do "better than Jamberry" nails. I've never tried the nail wraps they offer and don't really feel inclined to since I have so many stamping plates and the sky's the limit with stamping nail art.

I chose Butterfly Kisses to recreate.

I started with AEngland Iseult on all nails and then topped that off with Glitter Gal Fuschia holographic. Isn't that a beautiful combination??

I used BM-424 from the BM 2013 CYO (Create Your Own) collection and stamped the butterfly wing image with Funky Fingers Black Knight.

I used L.A. Colors French White to make the dots on the wings with a toothpick.

I LOVE this look!!! Have you every done butterfly wing nails?

Merry Christmas!! Winter Scene with Mom

For Christmas, I decided to do matching manicures with my mom. She loved the idea even though she wasn't sure about it at first.

I first painted both of our nails with a base of L.A. Girl Color Addict in Hooked. She certainly wasn't sure about blue nails! :P

Then, I stamped snowmen from XJ1, XJ6, and Cheeky Jumbo Plate 6 as nail decals with Funky Fingers Black Knight. I colored them in with a dotting tool using Funky Fingers Gesso. Then I put the decals on her nails and stamped the snowflake image on her ring fingers as an accent from Cheeky Jumbo Plate 6 with Konad White.

I used the same base and accent nails on my hands. I made decals with the trees from plates XJ1, XJ6, and Cheeky Jumbo Plate 6 with Funky Fingers Black Knight. I colored them in with a dotting tool using Konad green stamping polish.

I really enjoyed doing my mom's nails and really loved matching them to mine. My Uncle decided to get in the show and pulled out all kinds of Christmas items to take her photo with different poses. He really enjoyed thinking of poses for her!

I finished off the photos with intertwining her nails and mine to take a photo and it looks like a winter-wonderland!!

Have you ever done matching manicures with anyone?

C is for Copycat

Today for the A2Z challenge we have C is for Copycat. I decided to do a cat theme with the cat from BM04 repeated/copied on my nails. I also did the fish from that same plate in a repeated pattern.

I used a China Glaze red for the base and stamped everything with Konad White and then colored in the cats with Ulta Concrete Evidence and dotted in LA Color Addict in Hooked to give the grey some blue spots.

My thumb nail is curving weird, ugh. Hopefully it will improve as my nails continue growing :(

You can see the other manicures for this week's challenge here:

Flower Manicure with AEngland Love is Enough

Another addition to the Heavenly Quotes line by AEngland is Love is Enough. It is a beautiful foil with hints of olive, gold, grey and silver.

I added a flower stamp from PUEEN25 with L.A. Colors French White and really like the lacy effect.

PUEEN25

I think it turned out nice and muted looking, gives a sort or lace feel to the look.
